Kent Lewis, President, Anvil Media, Inc., Search Engine Marketing Agency
Lewis founded Anvil Media, Inc. in 2000 to help clients enhance their Web site performance, increase their visibility and generate sales online. As President, he’s responsible for Anvil’s overall business strategy, including new business, strategic partnerships and marketing. In recent years, he’s worked at Portland full-service agencies including Waggener Edstrom, Fleishman-Hillard and YRG. As an entrepreneur, Lewis was co-founder of Wave Rock Communications, eROI and SEMpdx, a local professional organization. He is also the founder of the networking group pdxMindShare, the SMART Gala charity fundraiser and Anvil, a free monthly e-zine. Lewis has been an adjunct professor at Portland State University since 2000, teaching eMarketing and related workshops. He is also the recipient of Portland Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 Award. Hallie Janssen, Vice President, Anvil Media, Inc., Search Engine Marketing Agency
Since 1998, Janssen has been customizing online marketing strategies for brand management, search engine optimization and search engine marketing. She started out as a client eventually joining Lewis at Wave Rock Communications in 1998 and again with Anvil Media in 2002. Janssen currently manages client strategy and implementation. Janssen actively speaks and writes about SEO, SEM, and Online Reputation Management (ORM). Janssen is actively involved in local business and charitable organizations such as Oregon Entrepreneurs Network (OEN), Portland Advertising Federation (PAF), and the Junior League of Portland. Outside of work and charity events, Janssen competes as a marathoner, qualifying for the 2004 Olympic Trials and winning the 2005 Royal Victoria Marathon and hangs out with her 2 year old son, Luke. Any additional free time is spent reading celebrity gossip sites like: Perez Hilton, TMZ, and I’m Not Obsessed just to name a few current favs; recycling everything in sight, and supporting local Portland businesses.
